Our spiritual garden is a very special place
in our playground where children can go to be still, reflect and pray. Every child in the school has designed and made a personalized pebble which can be taken out of the tray and held whilst they are in the garden. The garden has many special features what were designed
and chosen by the children, including features that have been included by past pupils who have moved onto the High School. Every child is presented with their pebble to take with them in the next stage of their life’s journey along with a Bible that is presented to them at the Leavers’ service in Church.
It’s very special being the Rector of a group of parishes where there are 3 church schools and I’m really happy to be able to be involved in the life of the school here in Shillingstone. Church of England schools are great places for children to explore and learn what it means to live a life rooted in a Christian understanding of the world. It is a privilege to be part of that learning and to help children understand more about faith in Jesus Christ. It’s not just one-way though, as children have a lot to teach adults too!
The church supports the school in all it does through prayer and participation in school worship, teaching and events.
