Childcare Provision

Sunbeam’s Nursery and pre-school caters for babies and children from 9 months up to 4 years, in a purpose-built building built in 2011. The nursery is open 50 weeks of the year from 8.15am to 5.15pm Monday – Friday.

Term time only sessions are available for pre-school age children. Early years funding is accepted.

Sunbeams also provides After School and Holiday Club sessions for school-age children. “Buddies” are open for the same times and for children aged 5 – 12 years old.

Preparing your child for school

The transition process into school is a well-planned and gradual process.

The children who are due to start school in the following September (known as the pre-schoolers) visit the school building and grounds regularly:

They use the school hall for weekly PE sessions, nativity plays and events;
They play on and use the school field; and
They join in with school events, such as our annual Sports Day.

For those children who attend Sunbeams and are due to join our school, in the summer term beforehand, the reception teachers will meet with the Sunbeams staff to discuss each individual child and their needs.
